MALHAR
“Malhar” is a harmonious retreat set within a 6-acre farm near Payyannur, Kannur, envisioned as a future home for Anoop and Swapna after their return from Bangalore. Rooted in their love for music, agriculture, and meaningful gatherings, the residence dissolves the boundaries between architecture and nature through an open and immersive design language.
The interiors embrace a subdued palette of greys and Kota finishes, intentionally creating a calm backdrop that frames the ever-changing beauty of the surrounding landscape. This muted canvas allows natural light, vibrant artworks, antique architectural elements, and colourful patterned tiles to stand out effortlessly, bringing depth and character into the spaces throughout the day and across seasons.
Teak wood, brass detailing, concrete textures, and locally sourced brass décor together create a balance of warmth, sophistication, and regional authenticity. Strategically placed skylights animate the interiors with shifting patterns of light and shadow, while the bathrooms maintain a serene simplicity through blue and yellow oxides, granite finishes, and playful tile accents.
At its core, “Malhar” is a celebration of music, nature, culture, and uninhibited living - a home designed to evolve with its inhabitants and resonate with the rhythm of everyday life.
